Who is this education for? This education is designed for licensed hairstylists of all experience levels who want to expand their services and offer solutions for clients experiencing hair loss. Whether you’re new to alternative hair or looking to refine your skills, this training will give you the confidence to integrate toppers into your business.
What will I learn? You’ll learn essential techniques for cutting, coloring, fitting, and caring for hair toppers, as well as business and marketing strategies to successfully introduce alternative hair services into your salon. The focus is on practical, real-world skills you can immediately apply.
Do I need prior experience? No prior experience with alternative hair is necessary! The class is structured to guide you through everything you need to know, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced stylist looking to refine your techniques.
What tools or supplies do I need? For hands-on classes, you’ll need your standard stylist tools, including shears, clips, combs, towels, brushes, and a tripod. A full list of recommended tools will be provided upon registration.
Are the classes hands-on or look-and-learn? Classes are available in both formats! If you're looking for a more hands-on option, you'll want to attend one of Dominique's in-person classes which will allow you to practice techniques with Dominique's guidance. If you're more interested in a look-and-learn style class or you're unable to attend an in-person class, check out Dominique's Digital Alternative Hair Education which provides in-depth demonstrations.
How long are the classes? Class lengths vary depending on the format and content covered, but most sessions run between 6-8 hours. Custom training options are available for salons looking for more in-depth education.
